Recycle Your Toner Cartridge

What do you do with your old toner cartridge when you are done using it? Many people throw their old cartridges in the trash while never realizing that cartridges are extremely harmful for the environment. Just like batteries, cartridges are not biodegradable and animals often die while trying to eat the cartridges and choking on the small parts that come off of the cartridges. They are not good for the environment, as the ink is very harmful for the earth.

That is why it is very important to always recycle your used toner cartridge when you are done using it. Although recycling is not as easy as throwing things in the garbage, the benefits are huge. Recycled cartridges can go back to a third party manufacturer and that company can actually repair the cartridge. They have professionals to clean the cartridge and repair it and then inject more ink into the cartridge. Afterwards, the cartridge is as good as new, except it is sold as a remanufactured cartridge that costs less than half of the price of the original OEM version. This means that the more cartridges that are recycled and remanufactured, the cheaper cartridge options there are for the consumers. As you can see, it is in everyone’s best interest to recycle their cartridges.

To find a free recycling program for your used cartridges, simply search the internet for a cartridge retailer. Review their free recycling program and find out how to send in your cartridges and where to send them to. Participating in an online recycling program is more convenient than participating in a recycling program with a local store front because you do not have to drive over to the store just to recycle a cartridge. Instead, you can just send the cartridge out via post service.
